In an effort to boost Miyagi prefecture’s renown as a rice-producing area the city of Tome has introduced rice-shaped licence plates for motorcycles:

In a similar move, it is rumoured that Setagaya ward in Tokyo will issue a limited number of licence plates in honour of one of its most famous “products” - Aki Hoshino:
